Kaizen is the practice of getting better, continuously.
It is the idea the Japanese motor industry was built on, and the reason its cars from the nineties still hold their own thirty years later. We named the business after it because it is the standard we hold ourselves to on every car we touch — and it pairs with corsa, the race, which is where all of this started for us.
Importing a car from Japan is not difficult, but it is unforgiving. A misread auction sheet, a build month you assumed rather than checked, a shipping line that will not take a non-runner — any one of them turns a dream car into an expensive lesson. We have made those mistakes so that our clients do not have to.
We buy at the major Japanese auction houses every week, and we put a person in front of a car before we bid on it. Not photographs from the seller. Not the auction house's own grade taken on faith. An inspector who opens the doors, starts it cold and looks underneath.
Everything we sell is listed with its faults written down. It costs us the occasional sale, and it is the only way we are willing to work. A car described honestly finds the right owner and stays sold.
We import into both the United States and Canada, which matters more than it sounds. The Canadian fifteen-year rule opens a decade of cars that American buyers cannot legally touch, and knowing precisely what qualifies where is a large part of what we do.
Four things we will not compromise on
Inspected in person
No bid is placed on a car nobody from our side has physically stood in front of.
Faults written down
Every listing carries what is wrong with the car. We would rather lose the sale than the trust.
Fixed fees, agreed first
You know our fee before we start. Nothing is added at the end, ever.
Paperwork is ours
Customs, federal declarations, compliance, title. You get keys, not a filing cabinet.
